This past weekend my family, my boyfriend and I all flew out to Arizona to attend my brother Rich's wedding. It's a very rare occasion that the entire family is together nowadays with us all grown-up and living in different states. It was also my father's birthday so it was an extra special weekend, made even more special by my boyfriend being there.
It was a lovely wedding and I was the photographer for the day, with my mom as my assistant, so we got to document the whole thing. I was glad to have my camera to help keep me focused and distracted during this time as it helped keep my emotions in check. Had I not had it I am sure I would have been a blubbering fool but I made it a point to try not to cry, for whatever reason, this weekend and I only got a little teary eyed once which was good for me.
The wedding was so much fun, despite most of us being pooped from the festivities the nights before. I managed to make it through the whole day and even dance like a maniac at the wedding a little despite having thrown up and fainted that morning before leaving. Thank goodness for Brian getting me some Sprite or I would probably would have been throwing up in between shots at the ceremony.
Despite the fun of the weekend there was a looming sadness. We were all just so happy to be together again and so sad at the thought that it would be over soon and we did not know when it would happen again.
There is so much to say and so much to tell from the weekend but I'll save it for when I upload some more photos from the wedding. I just decided to post my favorite from the day for this blog but there will be more to come.
