Roxy's Christmas Portrait 2008

So my mom got a tree today for the house and I was so excited I decided to take a picture of Roxy in front of it. There's something about having a tree in your house that makes it feel so much more like Christmas. Happiness.
Ah... I love this girl SO much!! Love, love, love.

The seat she is sitting on I reupholstered in an hour just before the picture.
Here's the before:
And the after:
(the darker spot on the seat is my stupid shadow in the way by the way)
Now it's time to wrap a few more presents, read a little and head to bed. Mmm.. I love the holidays =).

Whoops! I lied.
So I know I said I was going to take a picture a day but then the battery on both of my cameras died and my charger is MIA. Thus I will probably have to wait till my mom gets back this Sunday night to use hers like I have been for the past couple of months. Then, hopefully I will start shooting more again. Perhaps I will do what I did before and force myself to carry it with me everywhere, despite it weighing a ton, so that I will be more inclined to use it. If nothing else hopefully we will bond again. =)
I painted my desk for the office wall I'm decorating for myself today. Not sure how much I like the color on it so we'll see if it stays.
P.S. Christmas shopping with absolutely no money is not fun and is pretty depressing.

I read about it... in a book.
Not being in school or working can be quite boring. You're welcome for that bit of shocking information by the way. Being the tv junkie that I am this becomes problematic and I end up watching any and every show on tv just to fill time. To give my brain a much needed intellectual stretching to balance out the damage that watching Rock of Love Charm School is probably doing I have been reading for pleasure again. I haven't ever really had time to read that much for pleasure. Stupid school and textbooks.
This week I have been enjoying Stephenie Meyer's (the author of "Twilight") book "the Host".
I am almost done. So far it is a reasonably entertaining and interesting book but I don't really want to give a definite opinion on it till I'm officially done.
As if it hasn't been obvious, I haven't really been shooting that much at all lately. After I graduated I gave myself a little "break" from my camera to relax and just enjoy my summer but I am finding it is harder than I though to pick it back up. Obviously not a good thing since this is what I chose for my career. Since it doesn't seem to be happening organically like I would have expected I am going to force it. I am going to try and shoot at least just ONE IMAGE PER DAY and then.. lucky for you guys haha.. I will post my images on here.
So there you have it, in writing. Let's hope this will give me the kick in the rump I need to get back in the "groove" =).
Oh and notice the new blog template. I LOVE it!
